I teach piano and vocals from my home studio. I also gig as a soloist, in a duo and in other lineups (including the John Meriton Band and my band the Velvet Whiskers). I also write and produce original music, including personalised songs.

My Story
I have always loved music. I started learning Recorder at 5, Piano at 7, Flute at 8, Guitar at 22, Bass at 31 and have been singing my entire life. I have played at weddings and funerals, festivals, ceilidhs, private parties, mellow Sunday afternoons in the pub and everything in between! I have written and recorded two albums (in different line-ups) and contributed keys, vocals and flute to numerous others.
In my late teens I developed deep performance anxiety and took a step back for a few years, following a career in archaeology. Whilst working as an archaeologist in Lubbock, Texas, I bought a guitar and restarted my musical journey with the help of some very encouraging friends. Over the years this led me back to all of the instruments and music that I loved, leading into teaching. I have taught students from 5 to beyond 75, all of whom have their own musical interests and passions that I love to share. I am also trained in woodwind instrument repair.
The pandemic gave me the opportunity to explore music production. In addition to recording and producing my own music from our home studio, I also create backing tracks for my vocal students to use, tailoring them to the student.
Aside from this I love gardening, cooking, travelling, camping, riding my bike, and my children :)
